Councilman Linkhart Internship Opportunities
Denver City Councilman at-Large Doug Linkhart has two internship openings in his office for this Spring. As an at-Large official, Councilman Linkhart serves the entire City of Denver. This internship provides the opportunity to learn about city government while enabling those who participate to be of service to their community.
Marketing & Communications Intern
Interns will learn and participate in the full range of duties in the office of a City Councilmember. They will assist with a variety of duties including drafting articles, talking points, compiling research, and monitoring news sources. Additional duties will include website development, database management, design and writing for online and printed publications and material, and assisting the Councilman with his special projects. Other duties may be assigned related to the internship.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Undergraduate degree or coursework in Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- Strong writing skills.
- Professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills, demonstrated experience with detail oriented work requiring follow up through completion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills include dependability and ability to maintain confidentiality.
General Intern
Interns will learn and participate in the full range of duties in the office of a City Councilmember. They will assist with a variety of duties including research, constituent services, attending committee and Council meetings, and assisting the Councilman with his special projects. Some administrative tasks are also part of the internship such as answering phones.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Strong writing skills.
- Professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills, demonstrated experience with detail oriented work requiring follow up through completion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills include dependability and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Additional Information:
Each internship will last the term of a semester (through April or May for Spring semester). Two semester internships can be accommodated as well. Each intern is required to commit to 10-15 hours per week. Internships are unpaid but college and graduate students may be able to receive credit.
