fullsizeoutput_108aDoug Roper was elected to serve as DYD Vice President in March 2017. He is currently in his third year at the Colorado State Capitol serving as a legislative aide to State Senator Andy Kerr of Lakewood. This past presidential election, he worked to elect Representative Matt Gray to House District 33 in order to maintain and expand the democratic majority in the Colorado House of Representatives. When he is not doing political or electoral work, he is a ranch hand in the small town of Thermopolis, Wyoming.

In his free time, Doug enjoys playing pick-up and intramural soccer, skiing, and taking advantage of Colorado’s many acres of public lands. He also enjoys debating with critics about the authenticity of Provel cheese which is the cornerstone of St. Louis style pizza.

Doug was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Colorado in 2011. After spending time at schools in Cincinnati and Grand Junction, he transferred to the University of Colorado Denver where he is currently studying Political Science and Economics.
